There are several categories in which individuals may apply for settlement in the United Kingdom which includes the following:-

• A Spouse/partner

• A Family member

• A Retired person

• A Victim of violence

• A Refugee or person granted

• Other reasons

Our immigration team can also help nationals of countries in the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland regarding their right to live and work in the UK.

If you are a national of a country outside the EEA or Switzerland (except Turkey) you will need to apply under Tier 2. You must:

• Have a Job offer and

• Pass the assessment.

For foreign students in the UK there are two subcategories to study in the UK under the Points Based System, Tier 4 (General) and students.

Many individuals in the UK have family connections far and abroad. If you are planning to come to the UK as a visitor, you are allowed to stay here for up to 6 months in most cases. To be allowed to enter or pass through the UK, you must meet certain requirements dependent on the category of visa you apply under.

• See family

• Do business

• To study

• As a sportsperson

• As an entertainer

• Other reasons including to get married in the UK

Investors, entrepreneurs and exceptionally talented people can apply to enter or stay in the UK without needing a job offer – but you will need to pass an assessment.

• Applications can be made in the following categories:

• Exceptionally Talented – in the fields of science and the arts

• Entrepreneurial –business or businesses.

• Investments- investment in the UK.

• General – skilled workers.
